Where the space is
Which block, which floor of the garage, roughly where your meter sits and what you drive. In a communal garage those four answers already tell us most of what the job will involve.
Cargalicante fits charging points in Elda: mostly in the communal garage of a block of flats, which is how this city parks, and increasingly in the warehouses and workshops of the footwear trade. Every step, from the notice to your community to the certificate at the end, is handled and explained in English.

01Vinalopó valley · inland Alicante
Elda is not a coastal town with a garage problem; it is an inland industrial city where almost everybody parks under a block of flats — and that single fact shapes the whole job.
This is Spain's capital of high-end women's footwear. Shoes designed and made here reach shops far beyond the country, the city keeps a Footwear Museum to tell that story, and the pattern-cutting, lasting and finishing that go with it are spread across workshops and industrial units on the edge of town. The result is a city of 55,222 residents (INE 2025) that works for a living rather than lets rooms by the week — and that changes what an electric car is used for here.
It also changes where the car sleeps. Elda grew upwards, in flats rather than villas, so the typical request we get is not a driveway beside a house: it is a numbered space in a block's communal garage. That is a well-trodden legal route in Spain. Under Article 17.5 of the Horizontal Property Act, you give the community prior notice in writing and go ahead — the meeting does not vote on it and cannot block it.
The technical side follows from the legal one. We take a dedicated line from your own meter down to your space, with its own protective devices, so what the car drinks is metered separately and billed to you. The community pays nothing and its shared supply is untouched, which is exactly the reassurance a president or an administrator wants in writing before the notice is filed.
Then there is the other Elda: the vans. Factories, sample rooms and warehouses move boxes daily, and small delivery fleets are quietly going electric because the routes are short and predictable. Overnight charging in the yard of a unit suits that pattern far better than queuing at a public post — and it is a different job from a private space, sized around how many vehicles plug in at once rather than around one car.
Two local details worth knowing. Elda sits on the A-31, the Madrid motorway, so daily driving here runs down the valley to Alicante or up it towards Villena — mileage a home charger absorbs comfortably overnight. And the network is i-DE, part of the Iberdrola group; that is not a given everywhere in this comarca, since neighbouring Biar is still served by a historic local electricity cooperative. Work follows the Spanish wiring regulations (REBT) and instruction ITC-BT-52, and ends with the electrical installation certificate and its registration with Industria of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Cargalicante covers the whole province: the main page sets out our wallbox installation across Alicante province, the paperwork involved and the other towns we work in.
The standard case in Elda: written notice to the community is enough under Article 17.5, with nothing put to the AGM.
A dedicated line from your own meter, so the charging is measured separately and never touches the community's supply.
Charging in the yard of a factory or warehouse, sized so several vans fill up overnight without raising contracted power.
Certificate plus registration with Industria of the Generalitat Valenciana; the distributor here is i-DE.
02Guide prices
The equipment is rarely what moves the price. What moves it is the distance between your meter and your parking space, and in a city of flats that distance is usually measured in floors rather than metres. Read the figures below as honest ranges; the closed price comes after somebody has walked the route the cable will take.
The less common case in Elda: a detached or semi-detached home on the edge of the city, with the consumer unit close to where the car parks.
790 – 1,400 €Whole jobThe typical Elda job. A numbered space in the basement of a block, reached by a dedicated line from your own meter, carried through the shared garage on its own trunking and metered separately. It proceeds on written notice under Article 17.5, and the length of that run through the building is what sets the final figure.

03Typical jobs
What actually happens between your first message and a car charging in an Elda basement.
Which block, which floor of the garage, roughly where your meter sits and what you drive. In a communal garage those four answers already tell us most of what the job will involve.
We follow the path the cable has to take through the building, check the state of the consumer unit and agree the mounting position. That visit is what turns a range into a fixed figure.
We prepare the written notice under Article 17.5 for the community or its administrator. No vote is required, and the paperwork states plainly that the community bears no cost.
A dedicated line, its own protections, a certified charger. The electrical installation certificate (CIE) goes to you, the work goes on the register of Industria at the Generalitat Valenciana, and the invoice is broken down far enough to support a deduction claim where one is available.
Is your space in a shared garage? The law is on your side: written notice is enough — no AGM, no vote.
04Certified equipment
In Elda the deciding factor is usually the building, not the brand. A basement space wants a compact unit with a tidy cable run and load management, so the charger backs off if the flat is drawing heavily at the same time. Where there is a yard and several vans, we look instead at three-phase equipment that shares the available power between vehicles overnight.
V2C is a Valencian manufacturer: the Trydan ships with its own app, dynamic load management and solar surplus mode built in, and spares or support sit in the same region. Our default choice for homes.
The Pulsar fits on any wall, is run entirely from your phone and has years of installations across Europe behind it. It sits as comfortably in a townhouse as in a basement parking space.
When the job calls for three-phase, access control or charging for several cars, we turn to the rest of the certified manufacturers. The recommendation comes from your installation, not from a commission. See the equipment.
The main page carries the whole catalogue — the equipment we install, rating by rating. Tell us the car, the space and the supply you already have, and a unit picks itself.
05The Elda angle
An English-speaking reader looking at Elda is usually not the sort who came for the beach, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Foreign residents inland in the Vinalopó are far fewer than on the coast an hour away; the people who write to us from here tend to work in local industry, to have arrived through a Spanish partner or job, or simply to have chosen an inland city over a seafront one. It is a practical place, and the questions we get asked are practical too.
The first is almost always the neighbours. It is worth repeating, because the assumption travels badly from other countries: your community cannot stop you. Article 17.5 requires prior written notice, not approval, and once the line comes from your own meter the community carries no cost and no consumption. Where an administrator is involved we put all of that in writing at the outset, which is usually the end of the conversation rather than the start of an argument.
The second is the weather, and inland Elda is genuinely different from the coast: dry, hard summer heat and noticeably colder winters. Here the city's own architecture helps, because the basement garage that complicates the cable run is also a sheltered, temperature-stable place for both the car's battery and the charger itself — no baking afternoon sun on the box, no January frost on it either. Set charging to the cheap night hours and neither extreme really gets a look in.
The third is money, and exactness beats optimism. MOVES III closed on 31 December 2025; the Valencian Community has never run a regional deduction for a charger. That leaves the Spanish state income-tax deduction of 15 % on a base of up to 4,000 €, a maximum of 600 €, on work finished before 31 December 2026 and paid by traceable means. Whether the flat is your main home is irrelevant here. Where you are tax resident is not: the claim goes on the Spanish resident income-tax return (IRPF), so only Spanish tax residents get near it. File the annual non-resident tax and nothing equivalent exists, and Brexit closed the door UK owners once had to being taxed in Spain as residents.

06Coverage
Across the city's blocks and basements, out to the industrial units, and on along the valley the A-31 runs through.
The bulk of the work: numbered spaces in communal garages throughout the city, each fed by its own line from the owner's meter and handled on written notice.
Where a property does have its own garage or plot, the run is short and the job usually fits into a single working day, consumer unit permitting.
Charging points in the yards and loading areas of the shoe trade, built around delivery vans and small fleets plugging in together overnight.
A single street separates Elda from Petrer, and the two work as one market of around 90,000 people while remaining two proud and distinct towns — a linguistic border included, Spanish on this side, Valencian on that. We work along the valley towards Villena on the same terms.
We cover every corner of the province of Alicante. Other towns with a page of their own: Elche · Torrevieja · Orihuela · Benidorm · Alcoy · San Vicente del Raspeig · Dénia · Santa Pola · Villajoyosa.
No. Article 17.5 of the Horizontal Property Act requires you to notify the community in writing beforehand, and that is all: the AGM does not vote on it and cannot veto it. This is the standard situation in Elda, where most people park under a block, so the notice and the wording for the administrator are part of what we handle for you.
You do, and only you. The installation takes a dedicated line from your own meter down to your space, so the consumption is metered separately and appears on your household bill. The community's shared supply is not used and its bills do not change — which is the point most administrators want confirmed in writing before the work starts.
For a house with its own garage, 790 – 1,400 €. For the far more common case here, a space in a communal garage, 1,200 – 2,400 €, with the run through the building setting where in that band you land. Businesses and fleets start from 1,500 €, and equipment alone, where the line already exists, runs 400 – 1,400 €. The closed price is agreed in writing after the survey.
One thing only: the Spanish state income-tax deduction of 15 %, on a base of up to 4,000 €, so at most 600 €. The work must be finished before 31 December 2026 and paid by traceable means, and the property need not be your main home. There is no Valencian regional deduction for chargers and MOVES III closed on 31 December 2025.
No. It lives inside the Spanish resident income-tax return (IRPF), and that return is the only door into it. If the flat is owned from abroad and taxed under the annual non-resident regime, no charger relief exists for you at all; Brexit also closed the old EU/EEA route by which UK owners could be taxed here as residents. Run it past your gestor before the figure enters your budget.
i-DE, the distribution company of the Iberdrola group, across the whole municipality. It is worth stating because this comarca is not uniform: nearby Biar is served by a historic local electricity cooperative. In Elda anything that has to go through the network operator goes to i-DE, and we deal with it alongside the rest of the paperwork.
Yes, on identical terms. One street separates the two towns and together they hold around 90,000 people, so in practice they are a single market — though they are two municipalities with two identities, and the linguistic border runs right there: Elda is Spanish-speaking, Petrer Valencian-speaking. We treat them as neighbours, not as one place.
The Vinalopó is more continental than the coast, with dry summer heat and colder winters, and both extremes are harder on batteries than a mild seafront. The consolation is that the typical Elda space is in an enclosed basement, which moderates both. Charging overnight on the cheap hours, at a stable temperature and out of the sun, is close to ideal conditions.
Yes. Short, repeatable delivery routes suit electric vans well, and a yard with overnight parking suits charging even better. We size the installation around how many vehicles plug in at once and use power management so the vans share what the premises already has, rather than starting with an expensive increase in contracted power.

In a city that parks underground, the difference between a good installation and an awkward one is planning: the route through the building, the line from your own meter, the notice to the community, the certificate at the end. We do all four, in English, and leave you with a charger that is fitted, certified and registered with Industria. Send us your address and the make of car, and you get a clear figure for your own space in Elda.
